Chevron Corporation Production Specialist IOC in Midland, Texas

Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Production Specialist - IOC located at the Midland Campus near Midland, TX through November 30, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).

The IOC Production Specialist supports the real-time remote monitoring, control, and optimization of unconventional growth assets in the Delaware and Midland Basins. The position will be located in Midland, TX in the new state-of-the-art IOC facility that includes 14-monitor consoles, level 3 security, a dedicated fitness room, and personal lockers. On-boarding of the successful candidate will include field visits, shadowing current IOC Production Specialist, and competency assessments. The work schedule is a 12hr shift, 7-days-on, 7-days off, both day and night and will include holidays and weekends. The on-boarding schedule could change based on scheduled field visits and IOC training.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Provide real-time production and operations surveillance and operational monitoring, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for all unconventional growth areas in the Permian Basin to enable safe and reliable production growth

  • Support the development and execution of future opportunities, such as remote control and alarm response.

  • Work closely with cross functional teams to provide real time surveillance, optimization, and control of wells, CTB’s, compression stations, SWD facilities and associated equipment.

  • Recognize and notify the field of production upsets, including downtime and flaring, abnormal operating conditions, and equipment malfunction. This could include making after-hour callouts.

  • Provide proactive alarm management using OSI Soft PI application, which includes maintaining effective PI notification setpoints

  • Conduct data analysis on real-time and historical data that enables predictive analytics

  • Facilitate intel meetings with field teams each morning to address monitoring observations from the previous 24 hours

  • Assist field teams with managing maintenance break-in schedule events

  • This position requires driving on a routine basis

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Currently or recently a Field, Plant, Compression, or Production Specialist (Surface, Sub-Surface or Operations)

  • Strong understanding of Energy Components, Remote Desktop / InTouch, WIN 911 or Cignet

  • At least two years operation experience in oil and gas or related petrochemical industries, including experience with regulations

  • Must live within 50 miles of the work location (during 7 days on shift) and possess a valid driver’s license. Company vehicle will not be available for commute.

  • Drives on a routine basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 years Oil and Gas production operations or processing experience

  • Strong communicator (written and oral)

  • Strong commitment to follow the Tenets of Operations

  • Previous mentoring experience

  • Strong commitment to Process Safety

  • Preferred experience with m2m, Gas Lift & ESP monitoring programs, EAM, LOWIS, and MPR

  • Capable of simultaneously performing multiple tasks

  • Ability to manage time effectively, with minimal supervision

  • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with multiple production teams

Relocation Options:

Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters.

This position will be eligible for the Permian Employee Enhancement Program, so long as the selected candidate meets the eligibility criteria.
