Overview:

Chevron is seeking an experienced Application/Software Developer to support the Information Delivery Systems (IDS) team within the ETC Business Unit in Richmond, CA. IDS is a multifunctional IT team that supports all ETC laboratories with facilities in the following areas: Process Control Systems, Control networks, server and desktop support, Custom software and web-based application development, data base administration, instrumentation and data capture, information protection and cyber security compliance.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

The Application Developer will support an existing suite of Web-based and Software applications as well as play an instrumental role in designing and writing the next generation of Engineering Applications. A strong knowledge of SQL and database management is also required as IDS’s primary mission is to capture and ensure the integrity of ETC’s Research Data.

A working understanding of emerging technologies such as, Docker Containers, Kubernetes and micro-service architecture (event sourcing, event driven), is helpful but not required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences or related technical field

  • Ability to meet and engage with internal users to capture workflow requirements

  • Strong documentation skills

  • Understanding of Change Management process

  • Comfortable working on solo projects from start to finish

  • Strong analytical and math skills

  • 5-10 years’ experience developing software applications utilizing many of the following technologies/frameworks
